As we promised in an earlier post, we have put a larger capacity gas tank on the black DRZ.
Billy is removing the stock tank. Draining out the old gas was a smelly process.
Putting the petcock on the new tank.
"Hey! I'm kinda naked here! Where's my new tank?"
Almost done. We had to get a slightly longer vacuum hose. The stock hose isn't quite long enough to reach up from the extended tank.
All done! Looks great, and you won't have to add gas every 100 miles.
Meanwhile, back at the BMW F650GS....
I posted this picture a while back, and said we were going to install sturdier handlebars... ("Somebody" bent the stock bars while riding in sand in Baja...)
Well, we learned that there are no after market bars available for this bike, so we ordered another set from BMW, and made a few adjustments.
...and by adjustments, I mean we filled them with fine sand.
Billy is tapping the sand down into the end of the bars.
Sand? Yes! The sand adds stability to the bars, and also cuts way down on vibrations to the hands.
Almost done. Putting the throttle, and brake back on.
All finished, and ready for "Somebody" to take a quick test ride.
Here's a look at our shop.
Beemers on the right.....
...and Suzukis, and Kawasakis on the left.
Pick your pony, and give us a call!
